These efforts began with a five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with the Academy for Educational Development (AED). As of 2007, the T-MARC Company was officially registered as an independent company in Tanzania, though it remains under AED guidance until August 2010, when the company will continue with its own resources. T-MARC Company is fully staffed and managed by Tanzanians.
