  • Diana Kisaka, Managing Director
    Ms. Kisaka brings over 13 years of experience in private sector management to T-MARC Company. She has extensive experience in the private sector and with NGOs. Previously, she managed several departments for the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), including distribution channels. Ms. Kisaka has worked in all aspects of banking from mergers, closings and due diligence, to meeting staff and customer needs. At SCB, she oversaw a staff of over 120 employees, and managed recruitment, promotion, and hiring. She was responsible for cost management on a cost base of USD 3 million per year. She reviewed branch and ATM profitability, leveraged results, and increased revenue per dollar cost from 2.1% in 2003 to 3.7% in 2005. Ms. Kisaka surpassed branch sales targets from USD 64 million in 2003 to USD 130 million in 2006 while maintaining service standards. She increased internal succession planning through talent identification and a re-branding project. Ms. Kisaka has received a number of awards for her outstanding performance including: member of the SCBT Leadership Team; member of the consumer banking top team; CEO award for employee of the year 2005; and recognition for the most improved and hardworking manager in 2005 as the Executive Director of Consumer Banking. Ms. Kisaka holds a Masters of Business Administration from Bangalore University, India.
  • Prisca Rwezahura, Director of Marketing
    Ms. Rwezahura has more than seven years of marketing experience. Prior to joining T-MARC Company, she worked with Coca-Cola/East Africa where she was a Divisional Demand Creation Manager for Coca-Cola SABCO Ltd, based in Nairobi, Kenya. She was responsible for demand generation activities in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. In this capacity, Ms. Rwezahura developed and entrenched blueprint processes and routines for promotional launches, executions and reviews, new product launches, and product portfolio analysis and management that are used by all SABCO bottlers across the East Africa region. In addition, she successfully launched and managed the roll out of over ten Coca-Cola regional consumer promotions, five customer promotions, a top-tier client loyalty program, and three flavor extensions and pack introductions. Ms. Rwezahura also developed the operational marketing department for SABCO Tanzania. She has an Masters degree in Marketing Management from Middlesex University and Bachelors degree (Honors) in Business Management from Southeastern University in London, England.
  • Nelson Ndegwa Karanja, Director of Communications
    Mr. Karanja has seven years of experience in marketing, public relations, and behavior change communications in public health, social marketing, HIV/AIDS, and reproductive and child health in both the public and private sectors in East Africa. At T-MARC Company, he is responsible for the management and success of the Company’s communications programs. He has been a key player in the design and implementation of T-MARC Company’s communication initiatives including Vaa Kondom, Sikia Kengele, and Mama Ushauri. In collaboration with the Zanzibar Malaria Control Program, Mr. Karanja developed the Kataa Malaria communications strategy and behaviour change campaign, and managed the grants program implemented in partnership with Africare. Prior to joining T-MARC Company, he was a Media Director for Lowe Scanad Tanzania where he developed media strategies and managed the advertising requirements for several blue chip organizations in Kenya and Tanzania. Mr. Karanja holds a Bachelors degree in Communications with a focus in Marketing from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Jovina Tibenda, Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research
    Ms. Tibenda has ten years of experience as an education specialist, charged with addressing the educational needs and behavioral change of prison populations in the state of Ohio, in the United States. She has extensive experience in health programs, women’s reproductive health, STI/HIV and other infectious disease prevention, community health promotion and health information, education and communication (IEC), health policy analysis, program administration, and local capacity building. As an IEC Specialist with the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) Tanzania, she managed the behavior change communications component of the program aimed at improving reproductive health and preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS among adolescents. She also championed the establishment of a youth center that specialized in providing sexual reproductive health education and services to adolescents in Kinondoni district, Tanzania. Ms. Tibenda worked as a Health Behavior and Education Manager for an STI and HIV/AIDS intervention among truck drivers and their sexual partners (commercial sex workers) living at the truck stops along the Dar es Salaam—Zambia Highway. Ms. Tibenda holds a Masters degree in Education from Ohio University as well as a Masters in Gender and Development from The Hague, Netherlands.
  • Benjamin Igarabuza, Director of Finance and Administration
    Mr. Igarabuza has over thirty years of experience in financial and administrative management in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. He has fifteen years of experience in not-for-profit organizations working in development, disaster and emergency relief, refugees, internally displaced persons, food security, healthcare, and HIV/AIDS, and has over ten years of experience in training and capacity building of accountants and financial managers. Prior to working in the non-profit sector, Mr. Igarabuza was a finance officer in the government of Tanzania, a lecturer in accountancy and management in Tanzania and the Caribbean, and a financial consultant addressing feasibility studies, project appraisals, and evaluation. He has consulted for numerous non-profit development organizations across Africa to advise them on auditing, financial reporting, financial procedures, management, procurement, inventory control, accounting, and financial training. He is credited with streamlining and setting up control systems and procedures, issuing management reports for decision making, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, administering and managing daily accounting and finance functions, and designing staff incentive schemes and training.
