Flexi P oral contraceptive pills offer women a convenient, reliable and affordable modern family planning method. It is widely available in Tanzania, and can be used by women to choose when to get pregnant, if at all. Flexi P is supported by the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
T-MARC’s goal in marketing Flexi P is to contribute to a 60 percent increase of contraceptive prevalence rate (CPR)1 among women of reproductive age in Tanzania by 2015. Additionally, Flexi P aims to help reduce maternal mortality among women of reproductive age.
Flexi P’s target market includes more moderately affluent urban and peri-urban women 20 to 34 years old with an unmet need for family planning. Flexi P is promoted via interpersonal communications through community based distributors, market activations, women’s groups, Jipende hair salons and workplace interventions.
