Board of Directors

T-MARC Tanzania is governed by a Board of Directors comprising: 

Mr. Charles G. Singili, Chairman of the Board, comes from a distinguished career in the banking industry. He served as Managing Director of Azania Bank Limited for more than fifteen years and held other senior positions in the Bank of Tanzania, National Bank of Commerce, and Ist Adili Bancorp.  He also chairs the newly established Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency Ministerial Advisory Board and is a member of the Ministerial Advisory Board of The Tanzania Institute of Accountancy. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF).

Mr. Heri Bomani, Board Member, also with an impressive career in financial and property management, corporate finance, credit, and venture capital, is Founder and Group Managing Director for Pangani Group, Resident Representative for American Trade Finance Company, and Executive Director of Pangani Advisory.  He previously served in senior management positions in Kenya Commercial Bank Tanzania Ltd. and Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Ltd.  

Dr. Bennett Fimbo, Board Member, is a public health specialist with more than 25 years’ experience working on HIV/AIDS programs.  His medical degree is from the University of Dar es Salaam - Faculty of Medicine – Muhimbili and Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Health Promotion and Health Education. Most recently, he served as Head of the Information, Education and Communication (IEC), of the National AIDS Control Programme, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Dar es Salaam.  

Ms. Joyce Mhavile, Board Member, is Managing Director, Independent Television Ltd., Capital Television, Radio One and Capital One owned by IPP Limited.  In addition to being a media executive, she is journalist, news and current affairs reporter, TV producer and presenter—and has worked for a variety of Tanzania and international news service, including BBC and Reuters.

Mr. Alex Mgongolwa, Board Member, is Managing Director for Excellent Attorneys.  As a legal advocate, he has over 13 years of experience in criminal and civil litigation, probate and administration law, NGO’s law and family law. His experience includes working for the Legal and Human Rights Centre, Women’s Legal Aid Centre, National Organization for legal assistance (NOLA) and Southern Africa Human Rights Organization Network (SAHRINGON). He also sits on the board of several companies and organizations in Tanzania including the Legal and Human Rights Centre and the Media Council of Tanzania. 

Ms. Diana Monica Kisaka, Board Member and Managing Director, T-MARC Tanzania.  With over 18 years of corporate management and business administration in both private and non-profit sectors, she has led T-MARC’s evolution as an increasingly sustainable organization, raising its profile among national and international partners and stakeholders, and diversifying its program portfolio.  In 2015, she was featured as the cover story for the Institute of Directors Tanzania (IoDT)’s magazine highlighting her leadership and experience as a female executive.  Ms. Kisaka provides technical management and administrative leadership to senior managers and assumes overall accountability for the management and implementation of T-MARC's projects. She also serves as a secretary to the T-MARC Board of Directors and is a board member to the Tanzania Legal and Human Rights Centre and Opportunity Tanzania.  Prior to working with T-MARC, she held several senior management positions in the banking industry. 

Kimasa, Board Member and Operations Director for T-MARC Tanzania, has over 8 years’ experience in human resource management and business administration in both private and non- profit sectors, including business start-up, organizational review, and re-organization.  His areas of expertise include people management, people sourcing, performance management, compensation and benefits, organization development, employee relations and legal compliance.  Mr. Kimasa oversees T-MARC’s human resource management, general administration sales and distributions (operations) of T-MARC Tanzania. He is involved in planning, organizing and directing activities of the department’s units of ICT, Logistics, Human Resource, Administration, Sales and Distribution. He is responsible in leading T-MARC’s operation’s objectives, practices and promotion of employee-oriented, high performance culture in the organization. Tumaini serves as the staff representative to the T-MARC Tanzania Board of Directors.

Dr. Mohammed Ally Mohammed, Board Member, is currently Director of Health Quality Assurance Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.  In this position, he is responsible quality, standards, and safety of all services including quality and standards of medicines, diagnostics, equipment and clinical services.  He is a medical epidemiologist with various skills disease control and quality assurance including disease surveillance and response, international public health issues, setting standards of health services, drugs and medical equipment.

Athanasia Aloyce Soka, Board Member, is an advocate and independent legal consultant practicing at the Brilliance Law Chambers.  She has extensive experience as a legal practitioner in courts of law on family, land, labor, and criminal matters.  She is experienced in commercial and corporate law, including contract negotiation, preparation, and strategic planning.  She has also worked on gender, legal reform, and human rights issues.

Awaichi B. Mawalla, Board Member, is currently Director of Marketing for the Tanzania Cigarette Company Limited where she oversees all marketing elements, marketing budgets, resource allocation, merchandising and trade channels, in addition to managing research related to consumer needs and profiles as well as brand equity.  Previously she served in senior marketing positions at Zantel (Etisalat Group), Standard Chartered Bank, and Millicom International (TIGO).

Aida Nanguma Kiangi, Board Member, is currently Manager (East Africa) for Wind Lab Systems.  She is a dynamic, results-oriented leader focused on achieving exceptional results.  She has over 15 years’ experience in strategy development, operational planning and financial management in the private, civil society and public sector (particularly with local government authorities and non-governmental organizations).  Previously, she held positions as Country Director for ActionAid Tanzania, Deloitte Consulting Limited, Barrick Gold, and Standard Chartered Bank.


T-MARC would also like to recognize founding members of the board for their important contribution to T-MARC’s evoluation:  Ms. Margaret Parlato, Dr. Martin Alilio, Dr. Donan Mmbando,  Amb. Ami R. Mpungwe, and  Dr. Ellen M. Senkoro.
